S + must + V0 · S + have to / has to + V0どちらも義務を表します。must は話し手自身が必要だと感じている場合、have to は外からの決まりに近い場合に使います。注意すべきは、mustn't が禁止、don't have to が「その必要はない」で、まったく違う意味だという点です。 よくある誤り: mustn't は禁止、don't have to は免除です。この二つを取り違えると意味が逆になります。
