解説
ある時点を過ぎて初めてその出来事が起きたことを強調します。倒置が起きるのは「主節」のほうで、not until の節ではありません。倒置しない普通の形は S + did not V + until ... です。 よくある誤り: 倒置は主節で、not until の節ではしません: Not until did she call I understood ✗、Not until she called did I understand ✓。

Not until midnight did the guests leave.
真夜中になってようやく客は帰りました。
