Our school of nine hundred students used to throw away about a thousand plastic bottles every week.
Last year a group in my class the problem for a month.
We counted the bottles in the bins on three days and the total.
Then we presented the number to the headteacher with one suggestion.
The school two water taps near the canteen and sold cheap metal bottles.
In the first month, half of the students still bought a plastic bottle every day.
So we made a simple in the hall and marked the number of bottles each week.
Students like to see a number go down, and by March the number was two hundred.
The school now pays a smaller for rubbish, and the taps cost almost nothing.
