大多数动词的双宾语两种说法都可以：give her the book 或 give the book to her。但 explain, describe, suggest, mention, announce, introduce 只能用第二种，永远需要 to。而当直接宾语是代词时，也必须用第二种。 常见错误：explain 和 describe 永远需要 to：explain me the rule ✗, explain the rule to me ✓。
例句
He sent his sister a card. He sent a card to his sister.
他给妹妹寄了一张贺卡。他把一张贺卡寄给了妹妹。
She explained the rule to the class.
她向全班同学解释了这条规则。
Could you describe the room to me?
你能给我描述一下这个房间吗？
I bought it for her, not for him.
我是给她买的，不是给他买的。
