书面语中 there 加 be 以外的动词

除 there is 和 there are 之外，书面语还会把 there 与一组表示存在和出现的动词连用：remain, exist, arise, follow, appear, come, emerge。动词与后面的名词短语保持一致，而不是与 there 一致。 常见错误：动词与后面的名词短语一致：There exists several versions ✗, There exist several versions ✓.
例句
There remains one question to settle.
还剩一个问题要解决。
There exist several versions of the text.
这篇文本存在好几个版本。
There arose a dispute over the boundary.
围绕边界出现了一场争端。
From this there follow two conclusions.
