冒号、破折号和分号在列举中的用法

冒号引出列举或解释，冒号前必须是一个完整的句子。单个破折号也用来引出解释，但语气更强，也更随意。分号用来隔开列举中本身已含有逗号的各项。 常见陷阱：冒号前必须是完整的句子：Three things were: the invoice, the receipt and the form ✗，Three things were missing: ... ✓。
例句
Three things were missing: the invoice, the receipt and the form.
缺了三样东西：发票、收据和表格。
The cause was simple — nobody had checked.
原因很简单：没有人检查过。
We visited Hue, the old capital; Danang, the port; and Hoi An.
我们参观了古都顺化；港口城市岘港；以及会安。
The rule is clear: no exceptions.
