書き言葉寄りの条件を表す三つの接続詞です。on condition that は許すための縛りとなる条件を述べ、in the event that は備えとしての場合を述べ、providing と assuming that は前提として置く仮定を述べます。どれもふつうの時制と使い、条件を表す節では will を使いません。 よくある誤り: 条件を表す節に will は使いません: on condition that you will sign ✗、on condition that you sign ✓。
