双方がすでに認めている前提を示してから結論へ導く接続詞の一群です。given that は中立で、書き言葉によく出ます。seeing that はもっとくだけています。now that は状況が今しがた変わったことを強調します。given のあとの that は省けます。 よくある誤り: given + 名詞句、given that + 節 と使い分けます: Given that the delay ✗、Given the delay · Given that it was delayed ✓。
