成对连词要求所连接的两部分语法类型相同：两个名词短语、两个动词短语或两个分句。类型不一致就是平行结构错误，在作文中非常常见。在 either or 和 neither nor 中，动词与离它最近的名词保持一致。 常见错误：两边必须类型相同：not only a lawyer but also she writes novels ✗, not only a lawyer but also a novelist ✓.
