Explanation
Dùng cho việc đang xảy ra ngay lúc nói hoặc quanh thời điểm này. Luôn có hai phần: to be chia theo chủ ngữ, cộng động từ đuôi -ing. Động từ tận cùng bằng e thì bỏ e (write → writing); một nguyên âm giữa hai phụ âm thì gấp đôi phụ âm cuối (sit → sitting). Bẫy thường gặp: Không được thiếu to be: I reading ✗, I am reading ✓. Tiếng Việt chỉ cần một chữ "đang", tiếng Anh cần cả hai phần.
