Ngoài quy tắc thường, có vài trường hợp phải nhớ riêng. Câu bắt đầu bằng Let's dùng shall we. Câu mệnh lệnh dùng will you. I am dùng aren't I. Câu có nobody, nothing, never đã mang nghĩa phủ định nên đuôi ở dạng khẳng định. Bẫy thường gặp: amn't I không tồn tại trong tiếng Anh chuẩn; dùng aren't I ✓.
