Thay vì lúc nào cũng dùng said, chọn động từ nói đúng ý. Mỗi động từ đi với một cấu trúc cố định: nhóm advise, offer, refuse, promise, agree đi với to cộng nguyên thể; nhóm admit, suggest, deny đi với V-ing. Bẫy thường gặp: suggest KHÔNG đi với tân ngữ người rồi to: He suggested me to go ✗, He suggested that I go ✓ hoặc He suggested going ✓.
