Khi mệnh đề phân từ có chủ ngữ KHÁC mệnh đề chính thì phải nêu chủ ngữ đó ra trước phân từ. Hay gặp trong văn viết trang trọng và trong các cụm cố định như weather permitting, all things considered. Bẫy thường gặp: Chủ ngữ khác nhau mà bỏ chủ ngữ thì câu vô nghĩa: Permitting, the match will go ahead ✗, Weather permitting ✓.
