Kể lại việc lặp đi lặp lại trong quá khứ, giọng hồi tưởng. Chỉ dùng cho HÀNH ĐỘNG lặp lại, không dùng cho trạng thái — trạng thái phải dùng used to. Câu thường có mốc thời gian quá khứ để người đọc biết đây là hồi tưởng. Bẫy thường gặp: Trạng thái thì dùng used to: I would have a car ✗, I used to have a car ✓.
