Khi có nhiều trạng ngữ ở cuối câu, thứ tự mặc định là cách thức rồi nơi chốn rồi thời gian. Trạng ngữ thời gian có thể chuyển lên đầu câu; hai loại còn lại thì không. Chồng quá ba trạng ngữ ở cuối là câu quá nặng, nên tách ra. Bẫy thường gặp: Đừng chèn trạng ngữ giữa động từ và tân ngữ: She read carefully the report ✗, She read the report carefully ✓.
