Tính từ đứng TRƯỚC danh từ, hoặc đứng sau to be. Tính từ tiếng Anh không đổi dạng theo số nhiều. Bẫy thường gặp: Tiếng Việt đặt tính từ SAU danh từ ("thành phố đẹp"), tiếng Anh đặt trước: a city beautiful ✗, a beautiful city ✓. Và tính từ không thêm -s: tall students ✓, talls students ✗.
