Explanation
Dấu hai chấm dẫn ra một liệt kê hoặc một lời giải thích và phần trước nó phải là một câu đủ. Gạch ngang đơn cũng dẫn giải thích nhưng nhấn hơn và thân mật hơn. Dấu chấm phẩy ngăn các mục trong một liệt kê mà bản thân từng mục đã có dấu phẩy. Bẫy thường gặp: Trước dấu hai chấm phải là câu đủ: Three things were: the invoice, the receipt and the form ✗, Three things were missing: ... ✓.
